Need help with Occupancy Guard?
We aim to respond within 2 business days.
Most missed notifications fall into one of three buckets: (a) the Ring doorbell didn't detect an arrival (check the Ring app first); (b) we classified the event as low-priority or outside a booking window and suppressed it per your snooze settings and tier; (c) the device push token was stale. Sign out and sign back in to refresh the push token.
The vision model occasionally miscounts — a delivery courier, a passer-by, or poor light can look like an arrival. Tap "Not interesting" on the event in the timeline; we feed that back to improve future classification.
Any Ring camera or video doorbell already set up and working in the Ring app, positioned so that it views the entrance or approach to your property. That includes devices sold as indoor cameras — hosts commonly mount those in a covered outdoor spot such as a porch, entryway or garage. The restriction is on what the camera views, not on the model: Occupancy Guard must not be pointed at the interior living space of a guest's accommodation.
No. The model counts the number of people at the entrance; it does not recognise, describe, or identify individuals, and it performs no facial recognition or biometric analysis.
