Occupancy Guard is not a security system, alarm, access-control system, or eviction tool. It is an occupancy-awareness convenience layer that uses your existing Ring video doorbell at a property entrance to count arriving guests and compare them to a booking. Occupancy Guard relies on third-party services (Ring's motion/doorbell detection, network connectivity, push notification platforms operated by Apple and Google) that may delay, drop, or fail to deliver notifications.
Counts are estimates and may be wrong. Computer-vision headcounts and arrival detection can miss people, double-count, or misjudge how many guests are present due to lighting, camera angle, weather, occlusion, or model limitations. Do not treat a count or a snapshot as conclusive proof, and do not rely on Occupancy Guard alone to make any decision about a guest, a booking, or a dispute.
Entrance-only. No facial recognition. Count, not identify. Occupancy Guard is intended solely for external, entrance-only monitoring. It counts the number of people at the entrance; it does not identify, recognize, or enroll any person, and it performs no facial recognition or other biometric analysis. It is never intended for indoor use.
Guest notice is your responsibility. You are responsible for operating your Ring doorbell lawfully and for giving guests any notice or obtaining any consent that applicable law or your booking platform requires for exterior recording — including disclosing the presence and location of the doorbell in your listing and at the property.
By using Occupancy Guard you acknowledge that we make no warranties about the accuracy of counts or the delivery of notifications, and that you remain solely responsible for how you use its notifications and evidence, and for complying with all laws that apply to recording your guests.
